Denise, I (and I suspect a lot of other people with safety in mind) would be quite happy to save a few quid for a like for like product. However we are clearly not comparing apples with apples.
I would also not be very comfortable with someone flying a jet or anything else near me fitted with one of these things.

But you have not seen or tried them (I assume) you are just making the assumption that they are no good because of the price. Dont you think the price has a huge amount to do with the cost of German Labour (Who incidently bombed my Granny
) set against the cost of Chinese Labour.
As for what might be flying near you you have no way of knowing what is in peoples planes and how good the components are surely you would not want more rules for our hobby with some sort of MOT ?
