I can see what you are saying and I would not want the thread to get too political, there is nothing healthier than a bit of fair competition, however the Chinese play by their own rules which quite often involves standing on the shoulders of others. We got where we are today by invention and a great deal of development not by copying. I prefer to stay fat thanks.
Steps down from soapbox
Rob.
Rob, you are so right.....I just ordered a new set of LiPo's from HK.......only because they work, not as expensive as the local Thunder Power, actully 1/3 the cost.....and of course lower quality, but not really measureable for me, just in the lack of warranty....
What burns me is any one ever look at you're invoice......they are declairing a LOT less on the batteries they send into the US than what you actually paid. They are padding the shipping as well......so they have to pay less import tax......and this is hurting legitimate competition in the UK / US for sure......
Batteries I pay $16 for are listed on the customs invoice as $4.50/EA and shipping is less than half actual cost.......
thus the internal conflict, allow this ''Unfair'' situation to exsist and get some cheap batteries (or other parts).......but possibly at the long term cost of good US / UK companies.....
Hard to call.....
Heck you cant complain about the invoice and the customs declaration. You actually declare the amount you want to. The default is 30% but you can increase it to 100 % if you so wish................ All that is up to you on their site............ Look before you click
