following this thread i notice the electric power is making big gains over 4 stroke is that possible.is it so ??
another obervation being the'slab sidded fuselages' I assume thats for better knife edge performane.
I just fly for sport here is my paint desaster thus far
If you can make it down to Hollywood, MD this weekend for the [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=10549745]D1 vs D2 Challenge[/link] I think you will see that the overwhelming powerplant choice for pattern in its current state is electric.
The last contest at Conyngham, PA had 18 or 19 pilots competing and all but 4 flew electric. I am a recent convert and I have to say that I wish I hadn't waited so long. Used to be it was difficult to make weight with e-ships, but now with e-specific models and newer power set-ups it is a breeze and the performance is fantastic.
There is an initial investment switching over, especially if you want a nice field charging capability. I made a charging station using a plastic tool box, an Iota DLS55 power supply, two CellPro10S chargers and a Honda 1000 watt inverter generator. This wasn't cheap, obviously, but once it is done it won't have to be repeated again, at least for a few seasons, and then perhaps on a piece-by-piece basis.
