RE: Silly Question: External Power Source - Jump Starter
I'm using a Powermaster battery pack. It has several plugs for all of your normal household type appliances, as well as a set of car starter alligator clips, which I use for my electric starter. It lasts forever on a single charge when using it when flying, but it weighs a lot, at least 25 pounds. <div>
</div><div>This kind of setup is very versatile, much more so than a standard "hobby battery", but it is much bulkier than the standard setup. </div><div>
</div><div>There is also the possibility, that like my power box, it will explode. Not sure what happened, but after flying yesterday I hit the switch "on" by accident, and there was a bang and lots of smoke. I have purchased a new, smaller one that is much lighter and hopefully wasn't made in a bomb factory! </div><div>
