Hi George,
I've been using the 3ch SBus RX into a PowerBox SRS on a couple of models and it works great.
This approach is not a 'full' SBus system but gives me all the benefits of the Piwerbox, retaining all my existing servos, a single lead for 16+2 channels into the PB and cheap RXs. £55 for an 18ch RX basically.
The PB SRS also allows Futaba users the chance to monitor frame loss etc as well as run up to 2 RXs in satellite fashion if needed.
Try it! - I Wouldn't swap back!
Cheers
Mark
Mark, this is a good application of the S-BUS. A word of caution for those planning to use long leads on the S-BUS system, dont do it. The coms layer is simple high impedance TTL serial and will have the same problems we already have with PPM on long leads. What is needed is a proper line driver like on RS232 ( + 12V - 12V) or RS485/USB ( differential pair)
BTW Satelite Spektrums have the same issue with long leads...
Now I know most "have never has an issue" but most people dont crash because it is a "Rare" event.
