RE: Flyeagle Rafale Pipe failure
How do you know the turbine bearing failed from lack of maintenance? Last i looked, their was no regular scheduled maintenance, except due to crash damage or at whatever run time the manufacturer recommended for overhaul.
So if the ecu time read lower than what the manufacturer recommended ffor overhaul, and you didnt buy a crashed turbine, then i would say that the rear bearing failure was just unfortunate, and lack of piloting abilities caused the crash (ive seen the video, i saw nothing that would of caused the airplane to be unrecoverable after the flameout), or user error causing a hot start, or user error not putting oil in could of been the culprate. there is no gaurantee with "used" purchases once the new owner commits to making changes to or flying the model. Once you get to that point, it is all on you. Their are even cases of brand new turbines not lasting a flight, with the operating conditions are turbines operate in (rpm levels, temps,g loads) it is impossible to know if a turbine is ready to let go or not on a hobbyist level since we do not have access to xray eqquipment to check for cracks in the turbines or ngv's
