Default RE: Flyeagle Rafale Pipe failure

ORIGINAL: bidrseed2

Im a bit confused, islandhobbies is suggesting that lack of maintenance caused the bearings to fail, and that the seller knew this was imminent.
Thats a serious accusation and one I hope he can substantiate!

1) What ''maintanance'' as recommended by the turbine manufacturer did the seller fail to have carried out?
2) At what time interval was the maintenance due?
3) How overdue was the work?
4) Even if the work was overdue, has the manufacturer confirmed that the lack of maintenance WAS the cause of this failure.
5) What signs or symptoms would the seller have been aware of that a failure was imminent?

I dont know either of the two posters, but Id genuinely like to know, so that we can all protect ourselves from unsubstantiated claims and purchasing engines that are about to fail.
Birdseed, good question. Here is what the turbine manufacturer responded with when George above sent them photos and descriptions. The manufacturer CC'ed me on the email:

"George:

This type of failure is known to us. The cause is no turbine oil in the fuel, use of turbine oil which is not approved and or clogged oil distribution lines to the bearings due to contamination of the oil/fuel being used. Also, some synthetics are known to clog the oil lines to the bearing."

However our friend George has not forwarded this email to anybody here on RCU. Strange.

Nor has he come forward and addressed my question above where I ask is it or is it not true that he told a reputable dealer in the industry that he had SUCH a hotstart on his turbine in the Rafale, that the thrust pipe (that failed days later) was glowing red hot. And then the pipe fails. Hmmm.... and then its the pipe's fault. And then the turbine I sent him in another jet failed. And thats also the turbine's fault and my fault. Hmmm...

Weird.

or maybe George, you should be putting oil in your kero and not riding the propane can on your starts...considering you didnt own a turbine in your life until a month ago and now you are an expert at what to do with them since you didnt even know turbine cones glow orange at night....

good grief.
