Please keep in mind that the AMA as an organization is not synonymous with the way AMA is currently being run.

The tools are all there, the org has put in print that all views are to be tolerated.
As we see elsewhere, the administration is not enforcing some laws on the books to pander to their base.
If you do leave AMA,look us up every so often.
Should there be a change of regime to a more transparent and accountable administration
then perhaps you will find the org is indeed something you want to be part of

But also keep in mind
that one way the org will stay the way it is, they way you find unappealing,
is if they are successful at driving away folks that want to replace the ivory tower with a town hall.
