ORIGINAL: Panther G
The cupola is slightly different. the IS turret is longer and also slightly wider. The gun mantlet as you stated is different. I know there was one or two other small differences. It probably really does not matter. The turret looks good scale wise with the kit, so no real issue. I just get a little bugged with the substitution thing. <div> When i pay good money for a specific item, I like that item to be as accurate as reasonably possible.</div><div>Kclank , I'm definitely not trying to get you upset. I love the job your doing and i really like the kit. I'm just a little flakey with some things. LOL</div>
Hey Bro, not upset. i just not have been able to discern many differences and looking for real help. the hatches, hings, periscopes, vents, hooks, weld lines, etc all look the same to me.
I just now did some scale up measurements from a Tamiya 1:35th
JS-2 turret, multiplied those measurements by 2.1875 (should be the factor for 1/35 to 1/16th up-conversion) and the numbers are spot on (plus or minus 5%). Can you tell me or show me the source of your data. BTW the cupola is also virtually identical. At the moment i am fairly confident of the relative accuracy of the JUWA KV-85 turret vs. the IS-2. I remain open minded to any reference material you can point me to, As always keep in mind different factories and versions. I am building a 1944 Chkz. Back to you.
