I agree, soldering the nut on was a great idea. One more tip, you need to have a good hot iron to do this. If the iron is too small it will heat slow or not at all and that is what distroys the nylon insert. I have a Weller WES51 Analog Soldering Station and set it to 3/4 power to do the job and it worked great.
