I would check with the local clubs, in your case probably the Speedworld club, and see what they are racing. Then get equipment that matches their rules. As far as entry level 40 size Q500 goes Randy is correct. A TT Pro, Predator or the new Viper (if you want an ARF) would be the way to go.
