PS - attached a few pics so you can get an idea of what a DS Loop looks like. Pics courtesy of 'Gouch' from RCG - pretty handy with a lens. Now, imagine that Bird is travelling 200, 300 mph or more. Sure, the loop would be a bit bigger, but I think you can get the gist of how sharp the reflexes would have to be to fly like this...

looks .. really quite small, I'm surprised they don't do larger ones to make it easier.
Looks like they'd be loosing quite a lot kinetic energy with such a small tight circle too, it would seem (to a novice like me) they would get more speed with a larger circle.
Trouble is - there's only a very tight zone between where the lift is and how far you can go down the 'back side' under gravity before you have to turn back towards the lift.
Hence the quite tight circle.
I'll post up a link to a vid of the boyz doing 367 miles per hour in the States to give you an idea of exaclty how insanely freakin fast that loop comes around when I get home...
