RE: hetzer product on ebay
Guys...
I was under the impression that pre-sales weren't allowed on eBay, but apparently the regs have changed since I last looked at them. Here is the link: [link=http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/pre-sale.html]eBay Presale Policy[/link]
And simply put:
[ul]If you want to sell presale items, be sure to meet all of the following criteria:
[*] Guarantee that the item will be available for shipping within 30 days from the purchase date. Be sure to clearly state this information in your listing.
[*] Clearly indicate in the listing that the item is a presale item.
[*] The handling time specified in your listing should reflect the time from the end of the listing until the item is shipped to the buyer - not the time the item is in your possession. Be sure to specify the correct handling time in your listing.
[*] In the listing form, you need to use the default font size of 3 so people can easily see these sale terms.[/ul]
The critical item I see is the " 30 day shipping from purchase date " The critical item hetrwe is " Purchase Date " - aka, for those two who bought theirs already, the seller HAS to ship the item before Oct 4th (or sooner if they paid before today) And at that point, they can apply for a 100% refund if they used PayPal or any other eligable payment method. As for his policy about " defective parts ", due to that, I'd ~certainly not buy the kit without having seen one " in the flesh " so to speak. Not to mention the link-to-link track doesn't say WHAT they are cast in. I'd assume epoxy, like the rest of the kit, aka worthless for anything but display.
My point would be : if the molds are ready, they needed a master... where is it? Like others say, CAD drawings can be made by anyone these days, but seeing a kit, thats another story entirely.
Buyer beware, people... I'm just glad I'm NOT interested.
