Default hetzer product on ebay

the static model Hetzer discussed at length some months ago here is on pre-sales status on Ebay. It is a static kit, only, but many of us have created what we want from static kits so if this is something yo are interested in check it out. this is info only so let you mind and heart lead you where it may. I personally see a lot of potential but that is MHO only.

They should show us REAL pictures of the kit, or I will not bite. CAD presentation is just a dream right now and they want your money first. Nope, looks too risky.

I'd love a 38t Jagdpanzer (static or RC) but I need proof it exists first.

+1 I'd love to build an RC Hetzer, but for $225 I'd like to at least see the actual item I'm buying.

Guys...

I was under the impression that pre-sales weren't allowed on eBay, but apparently the regs have changed since I last looked at them. Here is the link: [link=http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/pre-sale.html]eBay Presale Policy[/link]

And simply put:

[ul]If you want to sell presale items, be sure to meet all of the following criteria:
[*] Guarantee that the item will be available for shipping within 30 days from the purchase date. Be sure to clearly state this information in your listing.
[*] Clearly indicate in the listing that the item is a presale item.
[*] The handling time specified in your listing should reflect the time from the end of the listing until the item is shipped to the buyer - not the time the item is in your possession. Be sure to specify the correct handling time in your listing.
[*] In the listing form, you need to use the default font size of 3 so people can easily see these sale terms.[/ul]
The critical item I see is the " 30 day shipping from purchase date " The critical item hetrwe is " Purchase Date " - aka, for those two who bought theirs already, the seller HAS to ship the item before Oct 4th (or sooner if they paid before today) And at that point, they can apply for a 100% refund if they used PayPal or any other eligable payment method. As for his policy about " defective parts ", due to that, I'd ~certainly not buy the kit without having seen one " in the flesh " so to speak. Not to mention the link-to-link track doesn't say WHAT they are cast in. I'd assume epoxy, like the rest of the kit, aka worthless for anything but display.

My point would be : if the molds are ready, they needed a master... where is it? Like others say, CAD drawings can be made by anyone these days, but seeing a kit, thats another story entirely.

Buyer beware, people... I'm just glad I'm NOT interested.

I believe that there was a person asking for help and advice on this forum a few years back who intended to build a static Hetzer from resin and white metal, he was not made welcome with some negative remarks, some wanted a full RC compatible model with alloy tracks and sprockets along with DMD and battle system for less than 100€ built, these same individuals couldn’t understand the investment involved in making a static kit let alone a full RC kit.

As for anyone making a CAD drawing to try and sell a model supposedly as some sort of sham then they do not understand CAD drawing yes anyone can use it these days but to build a CAD model like this person has done will take at least 6 months of hard work and a heck of a lot of research, now if anyone can build a CAD model to this level of detail in 6 months or less then you are in the wrong job and should be highly paid, however I do agree that they should have built a prototype and pictures of this should be shown, as for resin tracks well the chap has only ever claimed it to be static and that by drilling and pinning the tracks they will hang in an appropriate manner aching to the real thing nothing more.

It would be nice to see a finished kit, but the other thing to do is go on ebay and ask the seller questions. I asked about the track links, drive sprocket and idler, as to what they would be made of resin or metal and this was the reply...

"Thank you for your question.

The kit currently on sale is all resin. However, I am sourcing a company to produce a set of identical tracks but in metal. These when available will be offerred separately. I am not set up to do metal casting only resin.

The resin we are using is a very high strength resin, but I think for those modelers wanting to RC the kit, the metal tracks and drive sprockets would be better suited for this application.

So the kit being sold is resin, but will have a metal upgrade for those who would like to convert to r/c. I know everyone will want to see this as well, but it looks like there may be another viable manufacture soon? Maybe a 38t???? After the Hetzer????

Just placed my order for one of these Hetzers (based on talking with the producer and the pics of the kit on their very nice website http://www.bluestarmodel.com/hetzer-model.html . Last year I had the good luck to buy one of the kits made by Paul Howard "Panzerpaul" http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_95..._1/key_/tm.htm , as a result I got one of my favorites. I'll post some pics when I get mine from Blue Star but here is a link to the kit till then. Paul

Hey, I'm building a 1/16 Comet, so everyone that wants one send me $300 (sight unseen of course) so we can get 150 pre-orders!

Yeah, I know. Not enough for me to plunk down that amount of cash. I need assembled pics.
