If you buy either of those systems they might work for a while. But even if they do, you'll have spent your money and won't have a system that you can resell or use for anything else. If it absolutely must be under $100, get a Spektrum DX5 with receiver for $99. If you shop around, you might find a used one for a bit less. If you plan to stay in the hobby beyond just tooling around with a glider (great fun I've heard) then consider the Spektrum DX6i for around $160. For the extra $60, you'll get programming that will improve the feel and precision of your planes, leading to fewer mishaps, and you'll be able to program multiple plane setups into the transmitter.
