It doesn't pay to be cheap!
I have a sig se on the way so I've been buying all the tools for buildin and completion of the plane. I bought metal control rods , straight aluminum landing gear, nylon bolts and blind nuts for the wings and landing gear, and 4 futaba 3004 servos. However here is where I screwed up. I read a review that a sig se w/ a K&B .61 is a great combo. So I went to K&B website and researched. The .61 comes in at 14 oz where an evolution .46 and os .46 come in at around 19oz. Sold I'll get a K&B .61. Well surfing the web I find a K&B .61 w/ the "tuned pipe". Ad said came out of a plane w/ very few flights, had great compression yada yada yada. So I buy this for almost the cost of a new (just because the tuned pipe is discontinued). Well it shows up today, I turn it over and it does have great compression. Take the glow plug out, looks great , coils aren't expanded so I know it wasn't run lean at least w/ that plug in. Then I take the back plate off. OH MY VARNISH AND RUST. Totally got screwed , looks like it sat with fuel in for at least 5 yrs. I WILL buy a used pair of dirty underwear online before I EVER buy another used nitro engine. Sorry fellas , just had to vent, I totally screwed myself because now the wife won't let me buy another engine for a while. GRRRRR frustrated[:@]
