The Avistar still has dihedral unless it was removed. It is an excelent flyng plane. Convert it to a bolt down wing and lose the ruber bands would be my first piece of advice though. I would not worry about setting up dual rates. I like to almost max out the controls and set it up with about 40-60% expo to soften the center positions of the sticks and when I want high rates... I just push the stick further
