RE: Unknown Engine Won't Start
Hello all,
Thank you very much for all of your feedback. I apologize for not coming on sooner but I had to do that damn work thing and did not get a chance to come back online until this morning.
I'll mix up a new batch of gas at the 32:1 ratio as well as reset the needle valve now that I have a fair idea of the default settings and go from there. I want to see if the problem is something simple I'll rebuild the carb as soon as I get the kit for it, it is cheap and will rule that possibility out as the plane had been sitting for at least a year without use before I got it.
Soarrich, can you please give me a little more detail on which hole in the choke plate you were referring to when you said "Third: Soldier closed the hole in the choke plate."
I am fairly new to gas engines and would not want to solder the wrong thing shut.
Lastly, should none of this work out. Does anyone know of a good engine guy that would be able to work on this engine to get it to work? I don't mind paying if the outcome will be a good working, reliable engine. As I mentioned in an earlier post, when this engine is running, it has plenty of power to pull this plane around. I would like to keep it in the plane as it has already been set up with the beam mounts for it. I would have to do some rework of the firewall to get an engine that uses standoffs in there.
Thank you all again for your help. I will keep you posted of what I find.
Regards.
Cesar
