Default RE: Which replacement engine?

ORIGINAL: stussman

For bashing a LRP 28 goes great in a hellfire. If you are getting the pullstart version you mite have to raise the engine slightly with washers or similar or the pullstart backplate hits the chasis.
My favourite engine for my hellfire was the os 28. Reliable, easy to tune and very powerful. Gota watch the diffs tho!
For the money, an SH .28 is cheaper than the LRP and is the same engine. The LRP .28 spec 2 is a 6 port engine, the spec 3 is the 8 port engine. The Spec 2 and SH .28 p6 are the same engine, and the spec 3 is the same as the SH p8 or Losi 454. LRP, XTM, Dynamite, Losi, etc are all SH engines that are rebranded. Oftentimes, the SH line is the cheapest and run quite well for what they are.
