its a lubricating oil, used in hydraulics but mostly in vacuum pumps/compressor motors for lubrication.

for a JetCat, JetCat recommends Aeroshell 500 turbine oil, but any milspec 23699 (synthetic) turbine oil is acceptable, YMMV.
