most cameras are threaded (1/4-20) on the bottomside so they can be bolted to a tripod
just get a 1/4-20 bolt, drill a small hole in your (hard)hat and bolt your camera to it, you will have to play with the angles to get the camera and your eyes looking at the same thing but it shouldnt be difficullt
