get tired of seeing your post Denver
i think if you read the OP he's got a budget..
I think if you cared to read up or do any research on the cost of these radios before mindlessly posting your closed minded thoughts, you'll know that the 8FG is well within his posted budget of under $550.
Edit: and if he was considering a DX8, then he can certainly consider an 8FG for the same money. And how do you ''know'' that digital trims are better? Just because you think so makes someone else that likes analog trims wrong, i guess.
I don't think Mr. "R" is getting the digi vs analog is JUST on the throttle trim; if you fly glow or gas, it's a very quick way to kill you engine. The rest of the trims are digital. I fly Futaba, so I don't have that option, but it sounds kinda nice to me.
Also, for a budget of $550 or less, I think the 8FG Futaba would be a great choice, as would a DX7 or 8. Depends on his future plans, but the 8 channel stuff gives you more options for the future, with mixing for multiple servos per surface, etc. I started back into the hobby 5 years ago with a Futaba 7C, but switched to a 10C in just a couple years to get more channel/mixing options.
