get tired of seeing your post Denver
i think if you read the OP he's got a budget..
I think if you cared to read up or do any research on the cost of these radios before mindlessly posting your closed minded thoughts, you'll know that the 8FG is well within his posted budget of under $550.
Edit: and if he was considering a DX8, then he can certainly consider an 8FG for the same money. And how do you ''know'' that digital trims are better? Just because you think so makes someone else that likes analog trims wrong, i guess.
I don't think Mr. ''R'' is getting the digi vs analog is JUST on the throttle trim; if you fly glow or gas, it's a very quick way to kill you engine. The rest of the trims are digital. I fly Futaba, so I don't have that option, but it sounds kinda nice to me.
Also, for a budget of $550 or less, I think the 8FG Futaba would be a great choice, as would a DX7 or 8. Depends on his future plans, but the 8 channel stuff gives you more options for the future, with mixing for multiple servos per surface, etc. I started back into the hobby 5 years ago with a Futaba 7C, but switched to a 10C in just a couple years to get more channel/mixing options.
flying large gas twin's one notch of ideal up or down is a huge factor i think we all know gas carb's the throttle arm is more sensitive all the power of the motor is in the first half maybe of the arm's travel the last 1/3 there is vary little change in power .. and this scale's to idel one notch can mean floating by or a fast taxi after landing and one notch can mean dead sticking in aerobatic move that load's the prop up .. ( granted if you don't use ideal up )
so I really don't have to argue . I know I'm not the only one who wants to re trim throttle sittings Evey time a change model's and also I'm not the only one who wants to manual set my ideal Evey single time by just eye balling it
clearly they made Digi trim's and clearly they are on the vast majority of radio's for a reason ?? show me another name brand radio that's high dollar with analog idle trim?????????
if it's so cool why isn't everyone doing it and for the love of god futaba and budget are oppset's forces in the universe . it's probably the single most expensive RX .. and debatably the most expensive TX they are good radio's i just don't think they belong in budget thread....
srsly /roll eyes
and sir i don't think you fly gas model's NO ONE i know i mean NO ONE fly's giant scale with out a kill switch normally they program it to a 2 way switch ( just like duel rates ) ( IE the switch is way easier to throw then it is to take your hand off the rudder and trim the ideal down... ) also i think few giant scale flying event's require kill switches hmmm i wonder why that's because it's ideal to not rely on the throttle servo to kill motor's most people use chock servos or optical kills or the smart fly inginit switch .. or myself i use IBEC
many time's throttle servo boxes break and servo arm become lose that's the whole idea of having a secondary kill ... i really don't see anyone manual trimming the motor down to kill it ....in regards to big gas stuff... your 40 nitro yes your 40 presenter no....
and I truely think "I don't think Mr. ''R'' is getting the digi vs analog is JUST on the throttle trim; if you fly glow or gas, it's a very quick way to kill you engine. " is a balently WRONG statement .. and i can prove this becouse most radios have pre programmed mixes they label them as thorttel cut or engine kill, and they they use a switch . ( most of the time you can select the swithc you want ) now i wonder why ??
