I'm not sure what our disconnect here is. OP asked for a good radio for 3D under $550. The 8FG fits this requirement perfectly as it can be had for the the low $400s. Yes, the OP has a budget of $550 or less. But he never said he needs a cheap ''budget'' radio like a DX6i or something for less than $200. So why are you so upset with the suggestion of a mid 400 dollar radio when it fits the OP's requirements perfectly?

looks like tower has it at 479 guess that's low 400's huh ?? again Futaba is PRICEY the guy said he has a budget ... THAT'S MY POINT .. but you went out of your way to discredit it .. and again that's my issue here .. personally any one's radio's don't make a good 3d flyer( it's more a personal pref or Bling factor ) he should spend his money on airframes and if he has a decent computer radio hold off on upgrades .. after your though the crashing phase.. ( this would be my frist susjestioin in ne ver said anything about what he should buy denver .. i just said what you where saying was crap... becouse your a bandwagon internet surfer hip on the lastest trend's and in the so called '' know '' but really you offer littel to no legiment adivce ..
Dude. Please stop. You're really showing how little knowledge you have of this topic. I guess tower is the only place that sells the 8FG, right? Did you even think to factor in the credit you can get with Tower Hobbies right now? I know guys that have picked up the 8FG with two receivers for $420 bucks.
Yes, Futaba is pricey. But the OP asked for a radio under 550 bucks, which the 8FG certainly qualifies. Just because Futaba is expensive means it shouldn't be suggested??? Even when Futaba has a terrific offering that comes in a 100 bucks under the OP's budget of 550? Yeah, that makes great sense and is a terrific reason not to consider the 8FG. Not.
