I use Duralite Li-Mn batteries for the ECU. These can be safely charged in the plane (which is why I use them). I would definitely remove a LiPo from the plane (and the house) to charge it.

Really? I bet a few people on here that have had thier shop burn to the ground would say otherwise. I would never use a lipo in my jet but if I HAD TOO I would remove it to charge it.
I agree Dave, I guess he don"t understand that a lipo can and will catch on fire, and if it happens in your garage or home and your not around for some reason, all I can say is I hope you have insurance. SO the statement of "worry too much" I hope he uses NIMH.
Do you pull out all your electric plugs at night so that all those appliances that can catch fire are disconnected and safe. Then perhaps you should switch off your consumer board incase that built in wireing goes up. Life is full of potential risks
