solid axle onroad project...
I have seen some done before...onroad cars looking very scale with a solid rear axle, usually an ax10 or scx10 axle.
I have wanted to do my own, but just the axles alone arent cheap.
But i just bought a wheely king axle set...with center trans for $36 shipped.
I have lots of thoughts running threw my head tho....
I could make a scalers, homemade scale chassis similar to the scx10's. Custom links are easy to make. The front axle would need a servo over axle plate.
Or i could make a solid axle onroad as mentioned before. The beauty of that idea is to start with a hard plastic "toy" body and build the chassis to suit the body.
One of the axles im getting is locked, and the other unlocked.
Not sure how fun an onroad car with a locked rear axle would be.
so, should i build up a scale crawler, or a scale onroad with center trans/motor and solid axles?
If you come across any pics of simillar onroad projects, please post some pics for me!
