RE: Looking for a medium sized Yak
Just sold a seagull yak 90, good acroplane with limited 3das to heavy. Sold it to get a pilot yak 26% with dle 30, second hand but has 6 flights on frame and engine.
My seagull was 10.5 lbs with 20cc, the pilot is huge in comparison and is about 12.5 lbs with the dle30. I have not flown the pilot yet but clearly the wing loading and power to weight ratio is going to be a huge step towards a better flying 3d plane. I can only imagine that the bigger theyare the better they get for 3d. But I am no expert and my flying skills at 3d are almost zero but hope to improve them this year.
Both planes are built well but was amazed at the hardware and attention to detail with the cowl fitment and painting on the pilot yak.
If you are really looking for full 3d the seagull yak is not the 20cc plane you want, its a good plane but simply to heavy. Maybe a profile would suit you, thats the road I would have liked to take but they are hard to get over here without paying a stupid price for import.
