P&P planes generally come complete except reciever, and sometimes batteries.
It is no big deal to install a reciever. Battery wise, a couple friends suggested gens ace from nitro planes. They are much cheaper than the name brand, can be recharged faster, and seem to perform as well or better.
I recently re entered the sport after havin done line control and a 1 channel as a kid.
I got the Apprentice first, then the Radian Pro.
Best advice I could give is get with an experienced flier or two, don't get discouraged if you bang something up, and have fun.
