Aileron progress: the aileron cores have been cut/shaped. The ribs (1/8 balsa) are cut and will be spaced 1 1/4 inches apart. The LE (3/8 balsa) will be added last. The 1/8 brass tube is glued to the LE of the core piece and a 3/8 balsa piece glued over the top of it. Once all the ribs are glued on then the assembly will be turned over and the other side will be done. With just half the structure done it is already pretty stiff. Had to narrow the hinges so the aileron had free travel up and down; also had to enlarge the hinge pin hole to make it easier to insert the pin.
