throttle lag on 45cc conversion?
I have a homelite 45cc engine converted to rc. I am running it on the magneto flywheel setup with 30 to1 mix gas 87 octane. A friend of mine is intrested in converting one to put on a funfly type plane but he was concerned with the throttle lag from idle to full throttle transition. He said most of the gas engine from the hobby shops have a very quick throttle response compared to my engine. I am getting 7650 rpms with a 20x8 mas prop static. Any ideas why this engine has the lag? The tuning is fine as the transition is clean with no brubles or anything like that.
I told him that maybe loosing the flywheel and installing an electronic igniton would solve the problem. will it?
