I agree with you. I just don't want to break the bank over something RTR when I could build something for the same price and might be better. So far I'm really considering the Catamaran style of hull. The Segad C1 is what I really want. But Im sure that you can make one better or just as good for less. I am trying to price everything down. I found a body off the offshore websites. Figured its the place to start checking since its well announced by others. As for the ESC, Motor, & Servo I don't know where to go for that. I check it all on the website and there are great options. But does the hull have any play with the motor selections. I do want to go with the brushless system for the power as ya'll said before. The Segad C1 comes with2 V380 Marine Outrunner 2700KV. If I buy one RTR or build I want it to have two motors so Ican upgrade.I didn't know that there were so many decisions for motors alone. Nothing like the Car/Truck setups lol. What is the difference between brushless & outrunner? I have looked at the cooling systems and that is something Ican totally understand. Same concept to a real boat (ex navy). But as for everything in my head its just a motor>shaft>prop. Doesn't look to complicated but, can't get a hold of a diagram of the Segad. Any insight?

I have that Delta force explorer 36" hull and those motors aren't to work, way way to small and the kv is to high. Shes a big cat! Mine isn't fully build yet, hardware is hung inside is CF and motors mounted. I'll be running CC1518s with swordfish 200s or seaking 180s haven't decided yet. Theirs a member Iknow running CC1520s in his DF36 which make my motors look small!

The Segad hull runs better on a single motor setup with the batteries in the sponsons but the dual runs great in the straights but is a turd in the turns she likes to roll. Ihave a bare ekos hull which is the same as the segad hull with different decals. Ill be running a single setup, prob a single T600 outrunner. Outrunners have a awesome sound that inrunners just can't touch! Ihad twin 32" hotr hull running on 2 outrunners called "el cheapo" she was a discount build i did and she was pushing 60mph and reliable! It's not how much you spend its all about what you spend it on!

To the OP..
As for the spartan I wouldn't touch that boat with a ten foot pole, it's a overpriced turd. 50mph is not that hard to do with a boat at all, perfect example a stock ul1 with a prop swap and strut adjustment can touch 50mph on 4s. I have a 32" mono I put together for way less then a spartan and runs mid 50s on 4s. Don't lt the 6s 50MPH+ sticker on the side draw you in, its marketing hype.
