RE: 3D Plane...What to buy??
Hi:
In over 50 years of flying and enjoying the hobby, I have given only one airplane away. A funtanna. So bad I just could not charge anyone for the junk.
When 3D came into voge, the only guys in the 100 member club learing to fly it was the kids. One day a kid friend just handed me the Tx while flying a wild little foamy and walked away. The thing was a joy to fly, so now I gotta have one just to keep up and continue to kick butt. Started with the larger glow 70 inchers, then gas 50's. Dumb thumbs were starting to hirt finances, so I tryed the small foamy electrics. Now, gotta learn 3D and electrics at the same time. Did a lot of flying and crashing. Stumbled onto RC Powers free Extra design, and darn it was good, could hover with ease and get around a rolling circle once or twice. Bought a lot of stuff the mags and on line raved about, but just did not cut it for a real old guy.
Got a percisionairobatics "Addiction" and really enjoyed it. Stable, never snapped out and did most everything I asked of it. Then the "Addiction X" larger version cameout, and had to have it also. Now in my shop, the only 2 of 20 some are kept clean and go to the field, yep the addictions! The AJ extras and such are real dusty hanger queens. Most everything would die the first time out, while the addictions are alive and well after more than a year. The old RC Powers extra is still alive, abet a lot heaver from repairs from the back yard fun. Gets snapped in half when being agressive like flying the addictions.
Hope this helps you in a good direction! ENJOY
