I also own the Funtana 90, it's a dream to fly and land, and I agree is not to heavy. It's discontinued but I came to find out that spare parts from the Funtana 125 fits just fine.<div>Mine has an OS 120 and it's enough for unlimited vertical so you should have no problems. Just a wk ago there was one NIB in the market section</div>

This Funtana 90 flew 3D back in 2004 and somehow remains a 3D model today with it's YS 1.10.
Obviously TravisP32 is very particular about how his models look since he is spending so much time making a canopy for his Velox II. Like many model builders maybe he wants a model that looks like an airplane and can do 3D as well and is not interested in an ugly flying plank of a profile. One can learn to fly 3D without trashing models over and over again in attempts to fly lower than your skill level allows.

Before you spend nearly a grand for a 65-70" setup for 3D, i would highly suggest you get a cheap profile foamie. Trust me when i say it hurts infinitely less when you lawn dart it instead of your 25% 3D model.

Good lookin' Primo! Just need a lil' swatch of black or silver for a canopy to make it look like a "real" airplane!
I too like the look of full fuse planes better, but for learnin' 3D and all around fun, you can't beat a good profile! [8D]

wyo69cowboy, I was told airplanes have fuselages and that this is a lawn dart waiting to happen. Lawn dart's don't have canopies. LOL
It will have real soon. I agree, it does look odd without one.

No darts! Those hurt... rocks, not darts, got in the way of my Reactor bipe last nite, as it hit LVC on the battery and the wind pushed me short of my landing path. Canopy survived, not much else [&o]

[link=http://www.extremeflightrc.com/html/ChinnYak55SP.html]Extreme Flight[/link] sold the Chinn Yak ARF.
Seems to be discontinued as an ARF.
There is a guy kitting two versions of a very similar Yak over at

Hi:
In over 50 years of flying and enjoying the hobby, I have given only one airplane away. A funtanna. So bad I just could not charge anyone for the junk.
When 3D came into voge, the only guys in the 100 member club learing to fly it was the kids. One day a kid friend just handed me the Tx while flying a wild little foamy and walked away. The thing was a joy to fly, so now I gotta have one just to keep up and continue to kick butt. Started with the larger glow 70 inchers, then gas 50's. Dumb thumbs were starting to hirt finances, so I tryed the small foamy electrics. Now, gotta learn 3D and electrics at the same time. Did a lot of flying and crashing. Stumbled onto RC Powers free Extra design, and darn it was good, could hover with ease and get around a rolling circle once or twice. Bought a lot of stuff the mags and on line raved about, but just did not cut it for a real old guy.
Got a percisionairobatics "Addiction" and really enjoyed it. Stable, never snapped out and did most everything I asked of it. Then the "Addiction X" larger version cameout, and had to have it also. Now in my shop, the only 2 of 20 some are kept clean and go to the field, yep the addictions! The AJ extras and such are real dusty hanger queens. Most everything would die the first time out, while the addictions are alive and well after more than a year. The old RC Powers extra is still alive, abet a lot heaver from repairs from the back yard fun. Gets snapped in half when being agressive like flying the addictions.
Hope this helps you in a good direction! ENJOY

Get something which is easily repairable, this isn't always foamies. Something with a short moment arm which some of the so called 3D models don't have!
don't look at the beginning of this clip, but after a few minutes are some home designs, sometimes i use the wing or fuselage of a ARTF and make a new design. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTtxStJJyFI
