FWIW, I witnessed a Hitec 5485 fail spectacularly today [X(] Flying with a friend; he thought he had an issue, so he landed, and we checked things over, doing a range check as well. He went up again, flew for a while, and said something's not right, and landed. Upon landing, one elevator servo was not working(hence the weird behaviour in the air). As he was checking it over on the bench, servo went hard over then smoked up! Literally was smokingyikes! Running on a LiFe pack; don't know why it failed, but glad it was on the ground, not in the air, and while he was there to unplug the power...
