Default RE: RX Lipo C rating?

ORIGINAL: lablover

Is the C rating of a RX battery important?

I have a 2 cell lipo for my RX battery 1600 mah and a 35C rating. Goes to my Regulator then on to the RX

Wasn't sure if C rating is critical or not for RX pack

Thanks in advance
The simple answer is "no problem". The C rating is simply the multiple of the rated amperage capacity that can be discharged when needed, hence 1.6 amps (1600 mAh) x 35C = 56 amps. You don't need 35C but it won't hurt anything.

If you are running this on an electric model, however, you won't need a 1600 mAh Rx battery. 800-900mAh is plenty. Depending on your flying style and the pattern sequence you fly, typically 25 to 50 mAh is consumed per flight.
