Best home I found for an LA40 was a Phoenix Models Robin. Low wing and twitchy as heck, but lots of fun to fly!!! Not quite what the OP is looking for I know!

Had 2 or maybe it was three of these, unfortunately they don't make them any more or I'd buy another (I too have an LA40 lying around)
