You will probably find that if you have the nose just shy of 90 degrees it will stop torquing. You may have to hold a little right aileron. Before you try to TR it down low try and get it to hover down low.
Once its in a stable hover, pull the throttle back a little to start it backing down. It will immediately need more up elevator to hold it in the hover because of the power you just took away from it. Once it slides down a little add power again and release a little of that extra elevator you just added.

Its kinda hard to type it out but thats basically how I do it.
