Default RE: Water based paint

ORIGINAL: Bandit59

I was at Florida Jets a few years back and a fellow pilot had a beautiful Mig painted with Sherwin Williams house paint and cleared. He said the paint was cheap and can be mixed to any color. He said he used a automotive clear over the SW paint and flattened it. I'm not a pro painter, so I'm looking to RCU for some help. Does any one know of this procedure or how to flatten clear?
This is not a new method and has been around for a long time. Many articles have been published on this application just do a "Goggle" search.
