RE: How to scale up from 1/72 to 1/6 scale?
I've seen plans for an F4F-3S "Wildcatfish" as it was called, might even have a set. The plans I saw were for a smaller version, larger than the 1/72 model you're looking at working from.
I found the plans, just don't know if they're what you're looking for
