I shipped a 90"ws biplane from Austin, Tx to Boise Id on Greyhound for about $275 (if I remember correctly). Used two boxes, built pretty much with cardboard and 1x2 for the frame with #6 screws and card board stapled. 1x4 was on the bottom. They were shipped at different times so they wouldnt be on the same bus. The reason being, Greyhound ships based on available space. It may take a day or two if the bus is busy. But I think meeting half way is a better solution. Less chance for damage and the gas would be a lot cheaper than shipping.
