Too bad they couldn't take the trouble to make their files somewhat compatible so common data could be extracted. It can certainly be done despite the additional data in the 18.

As far as releasing the file format is concerned, I would consider that a choice Futaba made about their proprietary data. If Futaba considers their file format is so critical to their design that they won't release the structure layout, that's lame but obviously within their rights. But if they won't produce a file reader/editor, that is not fine. I'm sure that I'm not the first to ask for this and it isn't even a difficult job so I have to consider it a total lack of interest in their customers.
