It was very easy ( according to my builders ) and we have also supplied one to a customer who with our help has also fired the TP to the short nose. In fact my customer has improved greatly on the way mine is done and his is looking superb.
I hear what you are saying about the long nose version. Although we have a long nose in the build right now for a customer and I am hoping that with a few changes we can improve on the looks. If like me its the short/ standard Siai 260 nose that you like, then I have no hesitation in suggesting that you go for one. You will love it, its great looking and even better flying plane.
