thought you liked the summit
I do- a lot. It's just that the drivetrain is already starting to show it's weak points, really the whole reason why I'm selling it. A buddy has a brushless Summit and has broken multiple driveshafts and several diffs (they only use 2 spider gears instead of 4). All of that looked like a huge pain and like no fun, so I put it up for sale a couple of places for $550, lipos included. I calculated it and it would be over $1000 to build a truck like this with everything brand new, so I should get what I'm asking.
guessing that is why its sold brushed

brushless + big tires = lots of stress on drivechain
Lol, yes you're right. It's just frustrating that Traxxas doesn't upgrade the diffs to be heavy duty in modern standards (not 1990's) and keeps those stupid plastic axles. Come on Traxxas...
they keep them that way because they wear out and break, traxxas makes their money from parts and upgrades more than anything, untill people start demanding better, they will continue this practice, trust me, they have enough research and development to make a extremely durable product you just need to ask for it.
manufactures like ofna focus on durability because parts availability is slim, if things wore out quickly and you mix that with minimal parts availability- no one will buy your product.
I forgot which, but exceed makes a clone of I think a Axial. not a bad kit, the guy I talked to was very happy with it.
