Bill what would you do about this dihedral???
So I've read the the dihedral helps the plane sorta level back out to some extent.. and eliminating it makes acrobatics less work to acomplish. Being less dihedral makes it easier to roll etc. What does this do?
That was a joke. This is a float plane with a Gull Wing. There are reasons for a gull wing though, look and read up about the WWII Corsair, it used a reversed gull though. This gull wing does have some dihedral though, in a couple of spots like the wing root and at the wing joints. The gull wing just looks cool so it was used on this model. Dihedral does help in self righting a plane in flight and make it stable, that also makes it hard to fly a trainer inverted, they like the belly of the fuse to be down as low as it can get. Your trainer also has a flat bottom or Clark-Y airfoil that tends to add lift. The swoose also has a flat bottom wing so it is an easier plane to fly, supposedly? It may not be a floater but the flat bottom may help?
Once a question on RCU has been answered to death like this one we often tend to banter back and forth with people, sometimes a bunch of guys will join in and you would need to go back to the original post to know what was asked in the first place. This post was just turning into banter and show and tell.
