We all hate to see that kind of damage. At least you can get at the area to reinforce it, and repainting the canopy sure beats repainting the entire fuselage. With mine, I initially thought I'd have to use a bunch of filler then reshape the canopy and repaint. But surprisingly, the depression gradually straightened itself out, and no one would ever guess what it looked like in the pictures I took.
Fix it up... the plane is well worth the effort. Mine is still waiting for its new engine.
