No reason you could not use a (2 cell LiPo - a bit slower) or a (3 cell LiPo - a bit faster), I would NOT recharge the LiPo while it is attached to the can though

Actually a 2 cell would be better as I found that the pump when driven at 12 V (I have a home made unit with the identical pump with a 12 V gel cell) tends to expand the fuel tanks a bit and it would be better to slow it down a little
