I posted this comment in your other thread but it was buried at the bottom. The only real issue with rds8k is the stunning silence you get if you ask if anyone has a compatible buddy box. This is easily remedied with a used rd8000 or other older model. If you don't have need for buddy boxing, no problem. It is a very fine radio and as Ken pointed out, it is hard to beat the 94102 servo.

I used to have a bunch of older 72 MHZ Airtronics radios that are 4 and 6 channels. Since getting a RDS 8000 and now the SD-10G (which is a completely awesome radio by the way) I don't have any use for them. I'll look and see if any of them are still in good shape. If you want a buddy box system I'll be more than happy to send one of them to you, then you won't ever have any issues with finding a buddy box as you will have your own buddy box. You will need to purchase a trainer cord to connect the radio to the buddy box for it though.

However, I don't know why they are so much cheaper. But I've always gotten good quality equipment from Radical RC, so I think you could trust them.

Use the one labeled Sanwa (Outside the US Airtronics radios are sold under the name Sanwa).Be advised though, if you short the wrong wires you may damage your transmitter which might possibly void your warrenty. So if you want to build your own make sure you test it to make sure everything is wired correctly and you have no shorts any of the pins.
