Default RE: US/Quadra 35 with points?

For choking, you stick your finger in the carb intake and pump the prop back and forth till your finger gets wet, then a couple of more pumps. These engines like to start wet. To clean the points, take the flywheel off, take the dust cover off to expose the points. Use a point file or fine sandpaper, not emory cloth to clean the points. I think it says on the point cover what the setting is. Either 16 or 20 thou. It I remember right. To remove any residue, take a piece of paper, like computer paper, and cut or tear a strip about a 1/4 in wide and put it in the point gap, close the point by turning the crank and pull the paper out. Do this a number of times till the paper comes out clean. Set the points with the gap open. reassemble and giv'er Quadra 35 takes an 18-8 prop and the Q42 takes an 18-10. Hope this helps.
