Default Build - New Version CARF P-51 Mustang

I haven't built a warbird since 2004 and recently I started getting the "itch" to build one so I purchased a new version of the CARFP-51. I will be using a Hacker A100-10 motor for power. I will also be using a Benedini sound system to simulate the sound of the Packered Merlin engine so I decided to kick off this build with creation of a speaker box. It looks like the best place to put it is in the area where the fuel tank goes. I took some measurements and made some templates out of card stock. The templates were assembled and placed in the fuse to verify the fit. Next, the parts for the box were cut from 1/8th aircraft ply and epoxied together. Holes for the speakers where cut out of the side of the fuel tank area. The speaker box will be held in place with screws going through the top of the fuel tank area into the top of the box. The layer of glass at the top of the fuel tank area is a little flimsy so I made up a stiffner out of honeycomb material. I cut a new firewall former out of 1/4 inch aircraft ply. Once the firewall and honeycomb stiffner were fitted, the inside of the fusewas sanded with 80grit and the firewall and honeycomb stiffner were glued in place with hysol.
