RE: SM Large Hawk Aileron Question...
Guys, still wondering if anybody else received a SM Hawk 100 with the aileron slots already cut out for control horn installation?
Harley, I looked at page 20 (and all pertinent pages) of the BVM manual and the only photos show the horns already dropped into the slot and they are close-ups so it is not a very accurate representation of exactly where I should cut the slots for the control horns INTO the aileron.
In discussing the aileron horn, in the manual there is verbiage that "The aileron horn is installed in line with the servo output arm" and that I should "Locate the slot to orient the horn in alignment in both planes to match the flap hinge procedure."
But in reality 2 top down photos by somebody with maybe a ruler first on the X axis and then a ruler on the Y axis, allowing me to gauge where anothazer builder successfully positioned their slot would make all the difference. Sorry to be a pain guys but rather ask before I cut into the skin rather than after.
Dantley, Tony Quist, would either of you mind posting such photos of the underside of your wings with a top down view of your ailerons and horns?
Thanks again,
Shaz
